Who wants what they wanted when they get it?

by Kerryn Potgieter

Ever wanted something so long

when you got it you didn't want it anymore?

Does it make it even worse if maybe

it never even was what you thought you wanted

in the first place?

How about if in hindsight you see that

you wasted all that longing on some kind of junk

that wasn't even what you thought it was supposed to be?

Far as I know there's still no way to get a refund on defunct fantasies.

De-Funked fantasies de-fucked fantasies.

Too Bad.

Only thing close to as bad as a dream-come-true

is a dream not worth the sheet it's spilled on.

Here's your dream, what's left of it

all dressed up on a silver plate.

Briefly seared on either side,

gauranteed it's still bloody in the middle.

Did you bother to ask permission before losing your appetite?

Hate to say it, but it's no-ones fault really

that your wetdream didn't pan out

good as it looked on the menu.

In future, spare the sentiment

you may get dehydrated
